Reminder: Google My Business Is Still Important

Reminder: Google My Business Is Still Important

When was the last time you updated your GMB listing?

It's been awhile since we talked about Google My Business, so I figured it was time for this reminder ... are you regularly updating your listing?

What's New in Posts

GMB Post Creation

Google My Business now lets you add up to 10 images and a video to your posts. Post options include:

  • What's New
  • Event
  • Offer
  • COVID-19 update

This allows you to further engage users who may be searching for your business or service/product you offer.

Those who regularly update their GMB profiles, including the use of posts, are more likely to show up on in the local 3-pack. This ultimately will drive more visitors to your website and help your organic ranking. Sounds like a winning solution!

Photos, Photos, Photos

Posts are important, but photos can really move the needle for your listing. Share project photos, feature your employees, refresh your cover image ... any time you can share a photo on social media, you can probably share that same image on your GMB profile.

The average US business has just 11 images on their listing. According to a Google My Business Insights Study, businesses with more than 100 images on GMB get 520% more calls, 2717% more direction requests and 1065% more website clicks than the average business. Who wouldn't want to see those increases?!

Holiday Hours

GMB Holiday Hours Update

As we begin the 4th quarter it's a good time to check your hours of operation. Plug in your holiday hours now, so come Thanksgiving you can focus on the turkey and not be worried about disappointing potential customers.

If I haven't convinced you to go update your GMB listing by this point, maybe one of these other articles on the topic will change your mind.
